One of my favorite holiday decorations growing up were the handmade felt stockings hanging from the mantel. I have memories of my Mom working diligently to finish them and then help my older sister finish hers when she started having her own kids. Well once I found out I was pregnant and due in October, I decided that I was going to start making one for my baby girl’s first Christmas! And sure enough, I had to call upon my Mom to help me finish MINE in time for Christmas this year. It was definitely a time consuming project, but when the nesting instinct kicked in during my third trimester, I welcomed the challenge. Here is the finished product:
Our baby girl’s nursery was a fun end-of-summer project for me. I enjoyed searching the Internet for artwork and combining it with some art I already had or made myself. I love how it turned out!

We love this townhouse we moved into but what I don’t love is all the blank white walls – too boring! So when I first came across this temporary wallpaper idea, I knew I wanted to do something similar. It’s removable (we’re renting) and would give our front room just the right amount of fun it needed. So I came up with the idea to do black triangles! All I did was buy a roll of black (it happened to be chalkboard) contact paper from Amazon, measure my triangles and got cutting! I then enlisted my husband to help me put them up and viola!
We had our very first girl’s trip this month with my Mom and sisters and it just so happened to be in Orange County where I live! So before the real party started in Newport Beach, we had a sleepover at my place followed up with a yummy morning brunch! Place cards, striped straws, linen napkins and even a donut tower! I get so much joy and satisfaction out of doing stuff like this – especially when it’s with people I love.
